Targeted Groups

In order for groups to count towards access figures a group is defined as “a minimum of 2 CYP over 2 sessions”

For CYPs identified by setting as specifically reuiring support (targeted)

Generic group/whole classroom (non-targetdd)

Triages

Triages should be completed for all CYP (clinical judgement should be exercised )

Triages only required for CYP identified by school with identified issues/needs following a discussion with MHL.

Letter

In instances where not all 8 CYP have been identified clinical judgement should be exercised as to GP letters being sent.

No GP letters required. No letters to service users required after initial opt out letter.

Getting Hlep Group Process

  • Getting Help group referrals come via PCMIS from the School MHL

  • Reviewed in Referral meeting – Name of group to be added to notes (Admin task)

  • Paris check to be completed as part of triage (Practitioner task)

  • Triage completed by practitioner (if any risk and deemed not suitable for group work) and practitioner confirms suitability for group to Admin

  • Admin move CYP to group tray/group waiting list tray and create group on PCMIS ready for group to start

  • Admin send letter to CYP/Parent/Carer and GP to advise of group start/end date in collaboration with practitioner (clinical judgement to be exercised)

  • Completion of group letters only sent if risk identified, signposting/onward referral is required or CYP will continue with additional MHST 1:1 intervention (clinical judgement to be exercised) (Practitioner task)

  • If a CYP/Parent/Carer refuses to have a record on PCMIS this can be deleted by contacting Amy Dunne/Claudette Sandiford (Practitioner task)

Thriving Group Process

  1. Admin send Opt out letter, spreadsheet and group information to school with deadline for opting out

  2. School send to YP/Parent/Carer via school with deadline for opting out

  3. School return spreadsheet of names - Default opt in student details Info Spreadsheet (password protected).

  4. Admin to add individuals to PCMIS and move to team Group tray and create group. Name of group to be added to notes in Referral intake meeting (Admin task)

  5. Practitioner to have discussion with school about CYP attending group – identify any concerns/risks (clinical judgement to be exercised)

  6. If a CYP/Parent/Carer refuses to have a record on PCMIS this can be deleted by contacting Amy Dunne/Claudette Sandiford. CYP can continue in group without a record on PCMIS (add to F2) (Practitioner task)

  7. GP Letters are not required for Thriving Groups
