How to set up automatic appointment reminders for clients

Appointment reminders can be automatically sent to clients via text messages. You'll need to make sure the Tel.No (Mobile) is filled in and the SMS consent box is ticked under 'Details' for the clients you wish to have reminders sent.

You must make sure the mobile phone number is correct; especially where a parent/carer number has been provided and the YP does not want the parent to be aware of the sessions. You MUST double-check before ticking the consent box to protect yourself from a data protection breach.

SMS alerts will be sent 48 hours prior to the upcoming appointment time at approx. 4 pm. The message will only send to those who have a scheduled appointment on PCMIS.

A note will then be automatically generated under the 'Notes' section. It should read: "Appointment reminder: [Time] on [Date] at [School]. For queries please contact your practitioner or email hpft.mhst@nhs.net"
