To step up to specialist CYPMHS you must first identify which quadrant your service user falls under; this is done by GP Surgery postcode. Then call the duty clinician within that quadrant’s specialist CYPMHS team to have a conversation about the suitability of the case. Pass on all notes (incl. any triage/IA and risk assessments/safety plans) to the clinician. If specialist CYPMHS has a case to step down to us, they will contact the relevant Team Leader and pass all their paperwork down to them.

A Trusted Assessment (TA) needs to be done from MHST before onward refer to CYPMHS.
